Year 7 Mini Olympics
In a nod to the 2024 Paris Olympics, our Year 7 students recently took part in an exhilarating series of Olympic style challenges. These events, which included relay races, coordination tasks, and team challenges, provided an engaging platform for students to apply and showcase key skills such as resilience, leadership, and teamwork, skills we have been emphasising in recent theory lessons.
It was truly inspiring to witness our students actively putting these lessons into practice. Their enthusiasm was evident as they cheered each other on and demonstrated remarkable determination, even when faced with challenges. The sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship was palpable, making the event a resounding success.
Sam shared, ‘I enjoyed competing in the mini Olympics, and my team was really supportive. But the best part was totally beating the boys’.
Ava reflected, ‘During the mini Olympics, I discovered the importance of teamwork and how being positive is crucial when working with others’.
Mikayla added, ‘I enjoyed having good teammates who encouraged and cheered me on’.
