Year 11 Gorge Wildlife Excursion

In Week 8, Year 11 Biology students from Gawler Belt travelled to the Gorge Wildlife Park in the Adelaide Hills. Highlights from the day included feeding the kangaroos, wallabies and ducks, meeting the baby emus, rescuing a baby parrot, and feedings the camels. We loved seeing baby dingoes and watching the cheeky monkeys. Learning about conservation of koalas and snakes from the keepers was very informative and they helped us to understand the importance of keystone species like the cassowary and dingo.
Exploring the park in groups with our friends made the experience even more enjoyable. It was a good blend of fun and education, with plenty of hands-on interactions and memorable moments. A special thankyou to Ms Earl, Mr Pellizzari, Ms Hanna and Ms Hennessy for helping make the day run smoothly as well as the staff on campus who helped to cover staff to allow our excursion to happen.
