Shrove Tuesday

Students and staff at Xavier College came together to celebrate Shrove Tuesday, enjoying delicious pancakes as part of this long-standing tradition.

Shrove Tuesday, which marks the day before Lent begins, has historically been a time to use up rich ingredients such as eggs, milk, and sugar in preparation for the fasting season. Beyond the pancakes, the day serves as an opportunity for reflection, encouraging the College community to seek forgiveness, deepen their faith, and consider how they can grow closer to God.

It was a wonderful celebration of community, faith, and tradition, setting the tone for Lent. As we now look forward to Ash Wednesday, may this be a time of renewal, prayer, and generosity for all.
