Rite Journey Takes Two Wells Campus Year 9s To Barossa

Our Two Wells Campus Year 9 students recently participated in a remarkable Rite Journey camp amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Barossa Valley and Mount Crawford. This experience was far more than just a respite from academic life; it served as a profound journey of personal growth and self-discovery.

Throughout the camp, students faced a series of challenging activities designed to stretch their limits. From traversing rugged hiking trails to tackling high ropes courses, each task aimed to develop resilience, teamwork, and leadership. The student-led hikes, in particular, fostered respectful collaboration and effective communication, showcasing the students’ ability to support one another and celebrate collective achievements.

However, the camp was not solely focused on physical challenges. It also provided a holistic experience that nurtured the spirit. Students engaged in meaningful prayer and group reflections, which deepened their understanding of themselves and their connection to a greater purpose. These moments of quiet introspection, integrated into the daily activities, reinforced our Salesian values of community, faith, and personal growth.

A highlight of the camp was Solo Night, where each student spent an evening alone in nature. This period of solitude allowed students to disconnect from daily distractions and reflect on their personal journeys. The profound experience of self-reflection fostered a sense of independence and inner strength that will benefit them long after the camp.

As our students return from this transformative Rite Journey camp, they bring back not just memories of adventure, but a renewed sense of purpose and a stronger bond with each other and their teachers. This camp marked a significant milestone in their transition to adulthood, and we are incredibly proud of how they embraced this pivotal experience.

The Rite Journey camp has reinforced the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones, supporting one another, and finding strength in faith. We look forward to seeing our Year 9 students apply the lessons learned from this unforgettable experience to their everyday lives and continue to grow and thrive.
