Pedal Prix Race – August 2024

The Xavier Pedal Prix team delivered an impressive performance at the Tailem Bend race on Saturday, August 3rd. The event, which spanned 8 hours and featured 194 vehicles, saw Bosco I secure a commendable 7th place in the Senior Secondary division of 53. This remarkable result is a testament to the team’s skill and resilience, particularly given the intense competition in high-speed racing.

The riders, including Joseph, Owen, Ethan, Elijah, William, and Daan, demonstrated exceptional endurance and focus, racing flat out while skillfully navigating numerous incidents on the track. Thanks to extensive repairs and meticulous preparation by Eddie, the Bosco 1 trike performed flawlessly throughout the event, proving to be a strong contender against top teams. Congratulations to the team for their dedication and toughness.

Meanwhile, Bosco II also had a strong showing, finishing in 34th place. Despite facing a significant mechanical issue that slowed the vehicle, Oliver, Isobel, Theo, Eli, Lachlan, and Cameron displayed remarkable perseverance and teamwork, pressing on to complete the race in a respectable position.

The Bosco III team, competing with only 5 riders in a higher division, faced challenging conditions as clear underdogs. Nevertheless, Tyler, Lincoln, Max, Zachary, and Blake rose to the occasion, pushing their vehicle through the full 8 hours to finish in 50th place. Their determination and effort amidst fierce competition from both adult and senior school teams were truly commendable.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated parents who took on Track Marshal duties and provided essential I.T. support. Their involvement was crucial in fostering a sense of community and camaraderie within our school.

Congratulations to all our teams for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the Xavier Pedal Prix legacy.
