Kaylie to Compere Catholic Schools Music Festival
Two Wells student Kaylie is set to co-compere the 2024 Catholic Schools Music Festival at the Adelaide Festival Theatre!
The Catholic Schools Music Festival is the state’s premier arts event for Catholic education, showcasing talent from approximately 2,000 upper primary and secondary students. Over eight months of preparation culminates in September performances featuring a massed choir, instrumental ensembles, and solo artists at a professional venue. With participation from around 80 schools, the festival fosters collaboration and personal growth, creating a positive learning environment. This year marks the festival’s 36th anniversary, celebrating the dedication of students, educators, and community volunteers.
Kaylie is very excited to co-compere this event. Being a compere is an important postion, required to introduce performances and guide the audience through the show, similar to a host. As a Mazzarello House Captain, Kaylie (Year 7) wants to take this opportunity to refine her public speaking.
‘I think I’m pretty good at public speaking, I have done some at assemblies and Liturgies at school, but this is a different experience with a lot more people. I also just want to represent the College at an event like this, I think that is really cool’ said Kaylie.
Kaylie said she has been to several rehearsals to make sure the script is air tight and that she knows what to say. Kaylie said she ‘is a little bit nervous, but much more excited’.
Well done Kaylie, we wish you the best of luck at Catholic Schools Music Festival!
