Evanston Playgroup Go On A Bear Hunt

This week, the Evanston Campus was filled with laughter, creativity, and adventure as children and their families came together to celebrate National Playgroup Week. The much-loved story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt was brought to life through an interactive and immersive experience that engaged young learners in a playful and imaginative way.

From wading through the ‘swishy swashy’ grass to splashing through the ‘squelchy’ mud, participants enthusiastically acted out the classic tale, embracing each step of the journey. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for families to connect through reading, playing, singing, and storytelling, fostering a love of literature and imaginative play among children.

Seeing the joy on the faces of children and their caregivers as they worked together to bring the story to life was a highlight of the celebration. The event reinforced the importance of early childhood learning experiences that encourage creativity, language development, and social interaction.

National Playgroup Week is a time to recognise the significance of play in early childhood development, and the Evanston Campus was thrilled to be part of this meaningful initiative. By engaging in activities that promote literacy and storytelling, the event showcased the power of stories in bringing people together and inspiring young minds.
