Evanston Catholic Charities Festival
On Wednesday, Week 7, Year 6 students at the Evanston Campus organised and hosted a lively and successful Catholic Charities Market Day. The event, which featured a carnival atmosphere, brought together students, teachers, and community members for an afternoon of fun and fundraising.
The Market Day offered a variety of engaging activities, including sweet treat stalls, clay making, slime play, games, and face painting, all of which captivated students of all ages. The event was a showcase of the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the Year 6 students, who took the lead in planning and running the stalls.
Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of the students and the generosity of those who attended, the event raised an impressive $1,700. All funds raised from the Market Day will be donated to Catholic Charities SA, which supports several important local organisations, including the Hutt Street Centre, Aboriginal Catholic Ministry, Our Lady of La Vang & St Patrick’s Special Schools, and Centacare Catholic Family Services. The event was a testament to the strong sense of community at Evanston and the commitment of students to giving back. The College extends its thanks to all who supported the event and helped make it such a memorable occasion.
