Balaklava Eisteddfod
On Friday Week 2, our students showcased their exceptional talents at the Balaklava Eisteddfod, competing in two distinct groups: the Vocal Ensemble and the Guitar Rock Band. Under the guidance of instrumental teachers Amy Roberts and Steve Gregory, both groups put in extensive hours of rehearsal leading up to the competition.
The Vocal Ensemble delivered a captivating performance, featuring renditions of From Now On from The Greatest Showman and Blame it on the Boogie by The Jacksons. Their performance was marked by enthusiasm, challenging harmonies, and impressive showmanship.
The Guitar Rock Band took the stage with remarkable prowess, performing Orion by Metallica and Hysteria by Muse. Their exceptional stage presence and musical skill earned them first place in the Senior Rock Band category, as well as the title of overall Champion of this section.
Congratulations to both groups for their dedication and outstanding performances. The experience not only allowed students to demonstrate their skills but also offered them the opportunity to broaden their perspectives by observing their peers. Throughout the excursion, students exemplified the values of RUAH, leaving a positive impression on peers and coordinators alike.
