Enrolment Process
1. Submit enqiry
Submit an Enrolment Enquiry online.
2. Receive Application for Enrolment
After receiving your enquiry, we’ll send you an email with instructions to complete an Application for Enrolment Form.
3. Complete Application for Enrolment
Return the completed Application for Enrolment Form and supporting documentation to the College, and pay the non-refundable $50 Application Fee. Take a look at our application requirements to make sure you submit in full, thereby avoiding any delays.
4. Attend interview
Enrolment Interviews occur no earlier than 18 months before the intended commencement date. If there is a position available, you and your child will be invited to the College for an Enrolment Interview. The purpose is to meet and get to know your child and your family, and to ensure specific enrolment information is made available.
If there are no positions available, you will be notified via email that your application has been placed on the waitlist.
5. Receive application status
After the Enrolment Interview, you will be notified of your application status. If your application has been successful, you will receive an offer of enrolment.
6. Accept offer
Accept the offer of enrolment within 14 days by returning the signed acceptance documentation and paying the non-refundable Enrolment Acceptance Fee of $150.
7. Commence transition
A representative of the College will help prepare you and your child for their commencement at Xavier College, including any transition visits.
If any of the above steps are missed, the Application for Enrolment will be unsuccessful.The Department for Education runs a state-wide primary school to high school transition process during Term 2 each year. Parents of current Year 6 students enrolled in government primary schools are provided all necessary information to complete the registration from their primary schools.
Intakes and Application Dates
The College has two major intakes, at Reception and Year 7. Enrolment applications for Reception and Year 7 intakes close on 31 May of each year, 18 months prior to the year of commencement.
Applications for all other year levels will be considered and places offered where available.

Years 1-6 and 8-12
Limited places may be available for Years 1-6 and 8-12, please enquire with the College Registrar.
Enrolment Criteria
While we celebrate that we are a Catholic College, we accept students from all faith backgrounds and those who do not identify with any religion or faith community.
Due to receiving a high volume of applications, the College prioritises prospective students who meet aspects of the following criteria:
- Children baptised in the Catholic faith
- Children with siblings currently enrolled at Xavier College
- Children from other Catholic schools
- Children of Old Scholars
- Children from other Christian feeder schools
- Families seeking a Catholic education for their children
- Date of receipt of application
- Outcome of Enrolment Interview
While siblings of current students are prioritised, please remember that a separate Application for Enrolment must be completed and submitted for each child. Siblings are not automatically guaranteed positions at the College.
Reception
Children may start Reception at the beginning of Term 1 or Term 3, depending on when they turn 5 years old. If your child turns 5:
- Before 30 April they may start Reception in Term 1, prior to their birthday.
- On/before 31 October they may start Reception mid-year, at the beginning of Term 3, prior to their birthday.
- After October 31 they may start Reception at the beginning of Term 1, following their birthday.

Application for Enrolment Requirements
To request an Application for Enrolment Form, please complete the online Enrolment Enquiry Form.
Please complete one Application for Enrolment form per child.
In order for the Application for Enrolment to be processed, the following must be complete:
- The Application for Enrolment Form is complete and not missing essential information.
- All necessary supporting documentation is submitted.
- The non-refundable Application Fee of $50 is paid.
To make completing the Application for Enrolment form easier, it’s recommended to first locate the following documents relating to the prospective student:
- Official Birth Certificate (a copy can be made at the College)
- NAPLAN results (if applicable)
- Latest School Report or reference from previous school
- Baptismal Certificate (if applicable)
- Custody Order/Parenting Plan (if applicable)
- Special Needs Documentation (if applicable)
- VISA or Passport if from a country other than Australia
Please note that submitting an Application for Enrolment does not guarantee a place at the College.
