Xavier College now invites applications from experienced classroom support staff to join the Gawler Belt (7-12) Campus in a replacement, part-time role as Education Support Officer – Curriculum.
This is a replacement position (replacing a permanent staff member on approved leave), commencing 28 January 2025 until 22 September 2024.
As Education Support Officer – Curriculum, you will be part of the College’s Inclusive Education team and will be highly skilled at supporting secondary classroom operations, working directly with diverse and extensive learning needs of secondary students.
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, you will provide support to teaching staff with the preparation, implementation and supervision of learning programs. You will suggest modifications to education programs to meet the learning needs of specific students and participate in the evaluation of programs and student involvement.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a genuine passion for in-classroom support
- Possess qualifications in School Based Education (Cert III) and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role
- Have previous in-class support experience (preferably in a secondary setting)
- Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and a proven ability to quickly develop strong working relationships with students, teachers, leaders and the wider College community
- Be reliable, fully available for the advertised hours of work and ultimately a ‘team player’ with a ‘can do’ attitude

Xavier College is now in search of dynamic and reliable Education Support Officer – Curriculum staff to work on a casual basis during the hours of 8.45am – 3.15pm, weekdays. Multiple positions are available, with an immediate start.
Suitable for University students looking to gain experience working in a school environment, with flexibility around studies/placement commitments, and/or suitable for experienced classroom support staff who want more flexibility with their hours of work.
As an Education Support Officer – Curriculum you will:
- Assist students (R-12) with in-class learning, using prepared and structured programs developed by teachers
- Provide basic classroom support to teaching staff
- Assist teachers with the care of students on excursions and camps, as required
- Assist in the daily administrative operations
- Develop positive relationships with students, parents and staff
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Certificate III in Education Support (or equivalent) or other associated qualification relevant for a school setting (ie. Education Degree), and/or previously demonstrated experience working in a classroom support role
- Current Working With Children Clearance
- Catholic Clearance to undertake paid work in a Catholic school
- Responding to the Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect Training – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC)
- First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012)
- Current SA drivers license with the ability to travel between campuses, as required

Videographer/Photographer

Hours of work
- 22.5 hours per week, working during term time only (40 weeks per year, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday)
- Some out-of-hours work may be required, as per conditions outlined in the CESA Enterprise Agreement 2020. Additional time worked (overtime) is to be pre-arranged and pre-approved by the Marketing and Community Engagement Manager in accordance with College policy.
The role of Videographer/Photographer will require you to:
- Produce engaging video and photo content at a high frequency while maintaining quality and alignment to brand, audiences, channels and stated objectives
- Remain current with the latest videography/photography trends, particularly within the context of social media content and digital advertising
- Attend key College events and activities (during and outside of school operating hours) to capture and produce content
- Be proficient in in the use of post-production video and photo editing software including the Adobe Creative Suite, such as Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, or similar, such as DaVinci Resolve
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be a dynamic, energetic and innovative individual
- Work in collaboration with staff, students, business services teams and can constructively receive and give feedback, advice and encouragement
- Have experience in producing photo and video content specific for social media platforms, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
- Hold a current SA Driver’s License
- Be presentable and professional at all times
