Gawler Belt Year 7 Camp
Our Gawler Belt Year 7 students recently embarked on an unforgettable camp at Adare Campsite in Victor Harbour. This much-anticipated trip allowed them to challenge themselves, build friendships, and create lasting memories.
Students took on kayaking, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities that tested their resilience and teamwork. Whether paddling through waves or cycling scenic trails, each experience helped them grow in confidence and independence.
Beyond the physical challenges, the experience bolstered camaraderie and reflection, reinforcing the values of respect, understanding, affection, and humour that define our College community.
Here’s what some of our students had to say about the experience:
“This camp was like no other experience I’ve had before. One of the most exhilarating moments was when I got to try this giant contraption that lifted me high into the air. At first, I felt a little nervous, as the thought of being so high up can be intimidating. But once I was in the air, the feeling of weightlessness was amazing. The view from up there was breathtaking, and it gave me a sense of freedom that I had never felt before. It made me realize how sometimes you have to push through that initial fear to truly experience something incredible.”
Blaine
“I really enjoyed the mountain biking as I got to ride with my friends across the beach and we even stopped to see the horses.”
Zoey
“I really enjoyed the Year 7 camp at Adare House. There were lots of fun activities so that we never got bored. We got to explore a range of different things. My favourite part of camp was The Flying Kiwi because it made me feel like I was flying. I think that it was a really great camp, and recommend it highly.”
Georgia
“Camp was amazing and the food was great. I really liked the beach activities and the kayaking.”
Mia
“I made some friendships that I think will last my whole life!”
Ella
“Just being there felt so good. It felt like I was welcomed to the school and the dorms were so much fun. I could do it a hundred times again.”
